SUSTAINABILITY NOTES: Housing Village Experience (HIVE) in Newberg, OR, is a 10-unit cottage cluster designed to address the state’s workforce housing shortage with homes affordable to residents earning 80 - 120% of the area median income. HIVE is a collaboration between the Missing Middle Housing Fund, SEDCOR, and the Newberg Workforce Housing Consortium. HIVE provides a testing ground for new materials, modular assembly techniques, financing models, and policy solutions - creating scalable strategies to deliver more attainable housing across the region.
